The Magic Box: Algebra Solver
Enter your equation(s) into the text area below.
You can use this program to solve linear equations, systems of linear equations, or single quadratic equations.
If you want to enter a quadratic equation, use notation such as 2x^2-3x+2=0 or something slightly more complicated like
2(x-2)(x+3)/5+3/4(x-2)+2x-3/2x^2+2=3(x-2)+(2x-3)(2x+2)-4.
If you want to enter a linear equation use notation such as 3(x-3)-(x-2)=2x+10 etc...
For systems of equations, each equation should be entered on a separate line, and notation similar to what is above is acceptable.
Also, to make the solutions more readable, the answers have been rounded off to 6 significant figures.
Also note, that if for some crazy reason you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or below, this script will not work.
Type your equation in this box, and press "solve" to see the answer magically appear, with steps in case you need to show work!

Script borrowed from davidwees.com, which is really quite a great site, not to mention, a life saver.
